The British Educational Institutes (BEI) were founded in the early 1950s to provide courses and diplomas in  a variety of subjects by correspondence to give the opportunity to those who had to drop out of school and start working before they finish their formal education. The BEI provides 3 different categories of services:

1. British Educational Schools (BES), British (IGCSE) and Sudanese Curriculum from Foundation to Year 11.
2. BEI English Language & Computer Centres, including ESP and different levels up to the renowned BEI Diploma which includes translation.
3. The BEI Training Centre (Corporate Training), ESP, management, marketing, and more specialised courses including oil and gas, environment, safety and security tailored courses.

Thousands of graduates have benefitted from these programmes and have thus been able to obtain recognised diplomas from Britain and improve their standard of living.

Our success can be measured by both the progress in each student’s abilities and by our rise in numbers through the years, our pupils’ achievements in Sudan Certificate and IGCSE exams and the popularity of our extracurricular activities which see us busy every day after school with programmes to improve language, sporting and drama skills.

Last year we administered all of the English National Curriculum tests available for British Schools overseas, starting in Year 2, as a means to benchmark our students against their peers in the UK in the core subjects of Literacy, Numeracy (and Science in Years 6 and 9) and to allow us to address areas for development identified in the test marking and analysis process. We are the only School in Sudan to fully implement these tests.
